Winter Storm Creates Water Damage

After all the snow from this winter and the weather quickly changing to much milder temperatures, this is the perfect setting of an ice dam. An ice dam is when ice forms on the edge of a roof and prevents melting snow and rain from draining properly off the roof. As the water gets backed up behind the ice, it finds way to drain under your shingles resulting in water damage to your ceilings and walls. In this photo, the water traveled through the window affecting the window sill and the wall leaking water onto the stairwell.
