Full Home Soot Damage
After a family came home from vacation they found that a dehumidifier they had left running in the basement had an electrical fire. The dehumidifier’s plastics smoldered for days leaving only the motor. This caused the entire home to be filled with very heavy soot filling 3 floors. This type of soot is the hardest to clean because it is synthetic leaving smears and greasy to the touch. With our commercial cleaning products and attention to detail, we were able to clean the home. When soot damage is this severe, it requires carpeting to be replaced and walls to have a fresh coat of paint after cleaning. Also, because of the severity of this job the soot had permeated into the wood floors and needed a buff and recoat. The painters came in and repainted the home and then the carpeting was replaced in the required rooms. After that we were able to do a buff and recoat of the hardwood floors and the home ended up looking brand new!
