Frozen Pipes from Extreme Weather
Due to an extreme temperature drop this winter in the Northeast, this homeowner’s pipes in an upstairs bathroom froze and burst resulting in water damage to 3 stories in their home. Pipes will freeze when the water inside them is cold enough to freeze. When water freezes it expands and the pipe can only sustain so much pressure before it bursts. The dining room pictured here was underneath the bathroom where the leaking pipe occurred. Our crews were able to remove the wet insulation from the 1st floor of the home to help dry out the ceiling. If you experience water damage to your home, call SERVPRO of North Rensselaer/South Washington Counties 24 hour emergency service at (518)677-3444, were always here to help!
